Blue is the new Black

Lately I've become obsessed with everything cobalt blue. I want a bright blue purse, pants, shoes and dress. No, of course I wouldn't wear them all together, that would be hideous. If I had to just pick one, I would pick the purse and expand from there.

Sorry for the short post, had a busy ass day and I'm ready to go home and pop open a bottle of wine and watch some Christmas movies. You should all go do the same.

25 Days of Presents

I freaking love the holidays. Like, seriously, I live for them. There is nothing better than cold weather, spending time with friends and family and eating until even my stretch waistband pants are feeling tight. Obviously, the presents part of the Holidays don't hurt either.

Buying presents for other people is a big deal to me, and I like it way more than receiving gifts. I'd rather just buy myself what I want and stick to watching people open their gifts. Thus, the reason I make holiday wish lists every year doesn't really make sense. Alas, I still enjoy putting together a collection of what I hope to receive. This is part 1 of the 25 days of presents I would like Santa to bring me. JK I'm not doing 25 posts on stuff that I want for X-Mas. ...Or maybe I am.

This list is from ASOS.com, in case you guys are wondering what to get me!

My Love for Poisonous Dart Frogs

When I was a child, I thought every kid had to collect something. I had friends who collected anything from Beanie Babies, miniature Barbie toys we would get in our Happy Meals to rocks (the cool kind, not just gravel rocks). Then there would be other friends who would have grandparents who knew they loved polar bears, so every trip they would go on, they would come back with the coolest polar bear souvenir from Branson or other equally grandparent-y vacation locale.

My complete envy for these friends and random children's obsessions was the start of my so-called obsession with Poisonous Dart Frogs. Of course, it would have been way too easy to love something normal like dogs or kittens, but I had to love this odd Amazon creature with bright colors and mysterious spots. It was what I chose to be obsessed with, so go with it.

Every field trip we would go on, I would search for a poisonous dart frog souvenir. This turned into me just collecting random frog souvenirs, since poisonous frogs are kind of a difficult thing to collect. This obsession lasted about a year or two, and has resulted in me having the most random frog memorabilia at my parents house.

The only thing that remains from my faux obsession with poisonous dart frogs is my love for bright colors. This winter I'm going to try to fight the urge to wear black and gray on a daily basis, and add some bright colors into my wardrobe. Wish me luck.

McQueen Day

Running out the door to get ready (WTF am I going to wear?) and work the McQueen event at their Melrose store. Yes, I will be one of those girls with the clipboards asking you what your name is. No, I am not happy about it. (I would much rather be the girl wandering around the store acting like I know how to drink out of martini glass and then spilling the entire drink on the floor, circa FNO.)

But you better believe when the event wraps at 9, I'll be shooting out the door to the nearest taco stand to get my hands on a torta. (I'll get to that tomorrow) Believe me, there will be some major food gorging after the apple and carrots (horse food) I've been eating all day.

Happy Wednesday!!

Tis' the Season to be Slutty

After a whirlwind trip home to see my besties and family, I'm shocked that Halloween is over, and I'm ready for the Holidays to get here already! Can you guys believe its already November? I can't believe after just getting back, I'm heading back in 14 days! So much to do!

Holiday traditions are HUGE in my family, and by huge, I mean I force my entire family to carry on traditions for the sole reason of: "Because it's tradition!!" (I know I'm not the only one who does this.)

But the one stressful tradition of the Holidays always comes at the end of the season, you know what I'm talking about. Fucking New Years. When the presents have been opened, the Christmas movies (Elf) have been watched repeatedly and you have gained the obligatory 15 pounds of weight from the pumpkin pie and leftover stuffing, you are forced to squeeze your fat bod into a tight, sequined bodycon dress and pretend your having a good time all while wondering who you're going to kiss at midnight. (Hint: You will kiss your best friend on the cheek after you both look at each other and laugh while saying, "Maybe next year!") This year I'm going to have ZERO expectations for New Years other than ultimate comfort while still managing to look decent. And getting slam bam drunk, of course.

Below are a few tips for New Years dressing, from an expert who has donned every type of cliche NYE dress imaginable.

Option 1: Long Sleeves! I mean the bottom of this is obviously not an option (seriously, what is that? A napkin?), but wearing long sleeves means you won't have to freeze your ass off while bar hopping trying to find the hottest guys in town.
Option Two: White! Because everyone else will be in black.

Option 3: Long dresses! This adds warmth and you will stand out from all the skanks in minidresses who you recognize from high school but will definitely not be having a conversation with. (Unless you're trashed, then you will be best friends)

Option 4: Say "Fuck it" and REALLY stand out by just wearing a giant sweater dress. (My personal favorite option)
Option 5: Completely conform. And wear all of the cliches I previously mentioned about NYE dresses. (Not suggested.)

Option 6: Sequined pants. Always a crowd pleaser.

Option 7: Sequin top with trousers. It says "I like to party" But "I'm not a slut."

Option 8: And last but not least, the "Whatever, I'll just be a slut. Chances are the drunk men will respond well to it" outfit. Warning: booty dancing will in fact mean your ass will be flashed to the entire bar in this number. You've been warned.

Let me know which one you guys favor.

I'M BACK!!

Have you guys missed me?? I have missed all of you oh so much! Believe me, I would much rather be blogging than updating status reports and press preview reports all day, but alas that is what has been filling up all of my time as of the last couple of weeks.

Tomorrow I will have a full-fledged summary of my trip home and to NY, but today I am still swamped with work so this will be a super short post just saying hi and that I missed you and promise never to neglect you this long ever again.

On a sexy side note, the wonderful cold LA weather had me turning on the space heaters at work which has caused my allergies to go on overload. I'm sitting at work with a kleenex stuffed up my nostrils and have sneezed upwards of 50 times so far today.

Hope you are all having a much more enjoyable Monday! (Fun game: which two images don't "belong")

If you guessed the sexy shirtless man and pug in pug slippers, you win the Monday prize! (My used kleenex)
